Comforting Hearts: Remembering Two Great Lights

Comforting Hearts: Remembering Two Great Lights 🌟

The Wild Mustard Seed Ministries family is walking through a season of deep mourning. Our local community is feeling the profound weight of losing two incredible women of God.

We will call them Ms. Sunrise and Ms. Sunset, because they dazzled all with their light.

Both were beautiful, radiant carriers of God's light on earth, fiercely dedicated to those they loved, their community, and their real estate family.

Known for their immense giving spirits, they possessed a unique gift for connecting deeply with everyone they met, leaving an unforgettable mark on every heart.

While they were similar in so many ways, they were beautifully unique. Both loved the Lord with all their hearts, poured that love directly into the people around them, and both will be missed for generations to come.

As we navigate this heavy grief, we look to the Word of God for comfort.

A Promise for the Brokenhearted

In moments of profound loss, God does not ask us to hide our tears. Instead, He promises to meet us directly in our pain.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."Psalm 34:18 (NIV)

Our hearts are heavy, but we take comfort knowing that the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, is wrapping around us right now to soothe our pain.

Two Unique Reflections of God's Glory

God uniquely crafts every soul, and these two women were masterpieces of His grace.

  • Ms. Sunrise reflected a beautiful, soft, guiding light. Through her, God provided warmth, steady wisdom, and encouragement to her community, family, and friends. Though she was called home just as her earthly retirement began, the spiritual legacy she planted will continue to influence generations.

  • Ms. Sunset reflected a gorgeous, brilliant light full of color and joy. Through her, God poured out vibrant energy and an infectious sense of fun. When you stood in her presence, you immediately felt special, seen, and loved. Her sense of style, her love of Christmas and her dedication to the community she loved will become the fabric upon which we stitch our stories.

Though their time on earth has ended, they are now fully alive and resting in the presence of the ultimate Light. They are truly the blessed ones. Scripture tells us that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). They have entered eternity, seeing our Savior face-to-face, completely healed and whole.

Lean on the Lord—and Each Other

While they rejoice in heaven, we are left behind to miss them. To navigate this valley of deep sorrow, we need two things: our Lord and each other.

Grief is too heavy to carry alone. God designed the body of Christ so we could share the weight of our sorrows. Let us lean into His presence for divine comfort, and let us lean into one another for daily strength. Let us talk about the memories, share the laughter they gifted us, and bear one another's burdens in love.

We pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guards your hearts today.

We love you, Wild Mustard Seed family.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of our friends, Ms. Sunrise and Ms. Sunset, and for the beautiful ways Your light shone through them into our families and our community. Our hearts are heavy with their loss, and we ask that the Holy Spirit wrap around us right now to soothe our pain. Lord, please comfort their families, give us strength to lean on one another, and soothe our hearts with Your perfect peace. We rejoice knowing they are fully alive and resting in Your presence today. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
